Manhole boxes are similar to conventional trench boxes, but have been designed to allow the construction of manhole chambers and incorporate 'return' panels to provide support beyond the extents of the adjacent trench. These boxes can be installed within a continuous trench run without the need to alter the trench boxes. Adjustable struts permit a range of working widths
